10 June to 26 July, 2026

“Unfolded Chapters” is an annual tribute to photobooks, conceived as a curated group exhibition. Each year, the exhibition’s title and thematic framework are derived from a selected book, which serves as a central point of reference and invites artists and publishers to engage in a dialogue with its ideas. This approach reflects an ongoing interest in re-examining seminal publications and reviving them within a contemporary context.

The 2026 edition of the exhibition is titled “The Photography of Nature & The Nature of Photography”, drawing inspiration from the book by Joan Fontcuberta, who critically explores the relationship between image, knowledge and truth in his work.

Founded in 1987, the Athens Photo Festival is Greece’s oldest photography festival and one of the oldest in the world.

For almost four decades, the Athens Photo Festival has been committed to promoting photography and the visual arts, whilst also serving as a key hub for contemporary photography that brings together artists, audiences and ideas.

Across an exhibition space of 3,000 square metres at the Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, a broad spectrum of contemporary photography is presented, ranging from emerging talents to established artists. Through exhibitions, image-based installations, film screenings, performances, publications and public engagement programmes, the main programme creates a framework for experimentation and exchange.

Göran Gnaudschun will be presenting his book Voices Seeking One Another.
